Requirements

Ability to read and write small letters and numbers.
Ability to make arithmetic calculations.
Ability to understand written and oral instructions.
Ability to concentrate and to communicate with management and co-workers regarding a shipment.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions that pertain to each shipment.
Ability to lift objects weighing seventy (70) pounds.
Strong work ethic.
Some schedule flexibility.

Responsibilities

Performs the day-to-day operations of the shipping department.
Packs and ships completed sales orders by using the correct number of boxes and stuffing not to exceed the 40 lb. weight standard set up by the shipping manager.
Maintains the quality of the product by looking for damaged bags or boxes.
Helps ship Freight orders and other special orders including Heavy Duty shipments and end of day for Next Day Air shipments, including Hazardous Material.
Performs daily maintenance to sales orders to assure the correct quantity goes out including incompletes.
