Shipper / Receiver
About The Position
Elmet Technologies is hiring a Shipper / Receiver to join their team in Lewiston, Maine. This role is responsible for preparing orders for shipment, loading and unloading trucks, packaging materials, maintaining accurate shipping information, and ensuring products and materials move safely and efficiently through the facility. The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable working in a hands-on industrial environment, and enjoys work that keeps them moving. This is a hands-on manufacturing role, not desk-based, involving movement within an active manufacturing environment, preparing materials, working with industrial equipment, and coordinating shipments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in manufacturing, shipping, receiving, warehousing, logistics, or material handling
- Can perform basic math
- Comfortable working with industrial and material-handling equipment
- Can follow established shipping, quality, and safety procedures
- Communicate clearly with coworkers and other departments
- Can work independently when needed
- Work well as part of a team
- Can stay organized when priorities change
- Have a strong safety record
- Have reliable and predictable attendance
- Willing to learn new systems, equipment, and processes
Nice To Haves
- Previous shipping experience is preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, material handling, production, or another industrial environment can provide a strong foundation for this role.
Responsibilities
- Prepare customer orders and materials for shipment
- Box, package, skid, and weigh outgoing products
- Load and unload trucks safely
- Support shipping needs across production areas
- Ensure materials are properly prepared and protected for transportation
- Use forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment
- Use packaging equipment such as banders, staplers, nail guns, scales, and hand tools
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving information
- Complete required transactions and documentation
- Follow established ISO, quality, and shipping procedures
- Keep the shipping area clean, safe, and organized
- Coordinate with teammates and production areas to keep materials moving
- Support additional shipping and receiving activities as needed

- $250 perfect-attendance bonus every month — up to $3,000 per year
