Requirements

  • Must be available and flexible to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Schedule will vary with hours between Sunday - Saturday, 5:00 am - 5:00 pm.
  • General knowledge of shipping / receiving procedures.
  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Solid communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize a large number of tasks.
  • Be detail oriented, especially concerning accurate paperwork and records.
  • Must exhibit interaction skills necessary to communicate with staff in other departments, co-workers, supervisors, and customers
  • Forklift experience required
  • High School diploma, some college preferred
  • Prior experience in Shipping / Receiving position
  • Computer literacy: Excel and Word

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Verify and identify a wide variety of incoming materials and supplies, referring to purchase orders and shipping/receiving documents.
  • Note and record shortage or damaged materials and enter inventory transactions into computer files
  • Use forklift to transport materials to and from shipping trucks
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing inventory
  • May use bar code labels and scanners to track transactions
  • May Assemble orders for transportation
  • Prepare shipping / receiving documents (including bills of lading, packaging lists, receiving reports, parts and materials lists for shipping to comply with standard operations procedure)
  • Handle routine communication and correspondence with carriers, freight agents, shipping services, purchasing dept., planners, and mailing agents
  • Assist in resolving matters relative to damages, losses and delays.
