About The Position

The Shipper/Receiver I provides manufacturing expertise and support including but not limited to, sorting, verifying, recording, and routing incoming and outgoing shipments. In this role, you will show a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all the position's functions. You will ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eaton’s quality guidelines as they move throughout the shipping, or receiving, process and perform quality checks as instructed. You will operate and read hand-held RF units to find, move and allocate material. You will use a resource management system (SAP) to process all incoming and outgoing freight. You will prepare items for shipment by assembling containers, posting weights and affixing proper postage and paperwork. You will interface with the shipping office, customer service, drivers, and carriers to ensure proper delivery. You will report irregularities, or equipment malfunctions. You will become certified in operation of forklifts to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years experience in a manufacturing, logistics or warehouse environment including order selection, packing, and receiving processes.
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Ability to use good judgment when handling material, with a safety focus.
  • Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using SAP, warehouse management system.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft applications (for example Excel).
