About The Position

The Shipper/Receiver manages the inbound and outbound movement of goods and materials across warehouse and production operations. This role is responsible for accurate system processing, ERP inventory tracking, quality inspection, and material handling while strictly following safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2–3 years of related warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Forklift certification required (employer-provided training available)
  • Proficient with ERP systems, basic Microsoft Office (Excel), and barcode scanners
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills for documentation and cross-departmental coordination
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals)
  • Strong reasoning skills to follow detailed instructions (written, oral, or diagram) and resolve standard operational issues

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts and hand carts to load, unload, and transfer materials between Receiving, Manufacturing, and Shipping.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions to maintain the dock, staging areas, and unload flatbed trucks.
  • Accurately record material issues, transfers, cycle counts, and adjustments in the ERP system using barcoding equipment and manual entries.
  • Complete Bills of Lading (BOLs), generate packing slips, and process satellite facility transfers.
  • Monitor daily shipping reports and coordinate directly with Customer Support and Production Coordinators to maintain on-time delivery.
  • Inspect incoming/outgoing shipments for damage, material defects, and potential environmental hazards using tools such as weigh scales, rulers, calipers, and dyne tests.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of non-conformances.
  • Proactively plan material moves based on production schedules.
  • Maintain organized, safe staging areas in compliance with Lean processes.
  • Operate baler equipment and maintain scrap/recycle trailer areas.
  • Cross-train colleagues, participate in task teams, and maintain clear communication across production departments to support quality (ISO) standards and productivity goals.
