About The Position

This position is for the 2nd shift in Findlay, OH. The pay rate starts at $22.23 and is a progressive scale job, reaching up to $25.32. There is a $0.75 shift premium for 2nd or 3rd shift. The shift hours are Monday-Friday 2:45pm-11:15pm. You will play a vital role in the manufacturing, development, and production of packaging suppliers across Ventek’s protective packaging business. Requirements

  • Previous experience as a forklift operator or material handler in a manufacturing /distribution environment.
  • Must have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality-focused is a must.
  • Ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.
  • Ability to perform repetitious duties, including stairs, sitting, and standing for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Safely handling all products and materials.
  • Load and unload semi-trailers.
  • Servicing the production lines by replenishment of material.
  • Maintain clean and orderly storage of material in our warehouse, per company and quality procedures.
  • Use handheld scan guns to scan to create BOL’s.
  • Use computer to properly send ASN’s transmissions.
  • Inspecting lift equipment at the start of shift determining safety concerns, repairs needed & documentation.
  • Assist in manual material movement on production floor with pallet jacks or related equipment.
  • Reporting any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor.
  • Being in attendance to all daily meetings and safety training, with participating to include suggestions and recommendations.
  • Maneuvering powered industrial vehicles (Forklifts) for the use in handling product, stacking, unloading & loading of shipments.
  • Organize the warehouse; product flow using a FIFO system and maximize product space.
  • Reading and understanding shipping, receiving, and quality check instructions.
  • Properly filling out shipping and receiving logs.
  • Interacting with truck drivers.
  • Frequently communicate with shipping team, Supervisors, and other shifts as required.
  • Assist in supporting team during vacation and absentee coverage.
