About The Position

The Shipper-Receiver & Bottle Preparation Technician is responsible for the accurate preparation, packing, and shipping of sample collection bottles and containers to Bureau Veritas clients in full compliance with Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations and internal quality standards.

Requirements

High School Diploma required
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Excellent attention to detail
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

Ability to work independently as well as engage others when required in escalation of concerns to meet the client needs or to best manage client disappointments
Energetic and keen with a positive attitude who thrives in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking, prioritizing and adapting to changes are required
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs

Nice To Haves

Experience in a laboratory environment is considered an asset
Knowledge of WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods an asset
Background in shipping/receiving an asset

Responsibilities

Label and/or dispense acid in bottles, when necessary, as per safety standards
Check the accuracy of bottles sorted to the bottle order
Pack bottles in coolers, ensuring sufficient packing materials and ice packs are provided as per Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Regulations
Ensure the bottle order paperwork is included in the cooler
Seal cooler with packaging tape and ensure it is safe for transport
Place all shipping labels on coolers as per TDG requirements
Separate all coolers as per delivery requirements
Ensure all coolers are clean and in good condition
Maintain bottle prep area in a clean, safe and organized manner
Ensure safe and timely delivery of samples, orders and other materials to and from customers
Receiving, labeling, packing, and shipping sample bottles and containers
Maintain inventory of glassware, preservatives, and dispensing apparatus
Research shipping methods to find the most cost-effective and timely routes
Ensure all samples and hazardous chemicals are shipped in accordance with Transportation of Dangerous Goods legislation
Keep records of all incoming and outgoing shipments of sample bottles and containers
Maintain communication with personnel at other locations to ensure consistency
Meet quality and turnaround time specifications required by clients
Provide supervisor with updates on workstation status and any delays
Follow all procedures of the Bottle Preparation and Quality Control
Be proactive in the identification of problems, areas of opportunity and inform the appropriate person to act upon accordingly.
