About The Position
We are seeking skilled Shipfitters to support the fabrication and assembly of structural components for naval vessels. The Shipfitter will read and interpret blueprints, position structural steel plates, and prepare materials for welding and final assembly.
Requirements
- 1+ years of shipfitting or structural fabrication experience
- Ability to read complex blueprints
- Experience working with heavy steel fabrication
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret shipbuilding blueprints and structural drawings
- Layout, position, and align steel plates and structural components
- Measure and mark materials for cutting and fitting
- Fit bulkheads, decks, and hull components
- Perform tack welding to hold structures prior to welding
- Operate hand tools, grinders, torches, and alignment equipment
- Maintain structural tolerances and quality standards
- Follow shipyard safety procedures
