About The Position
Hutco Inc. is seeking first-class ship fitters for shipyards located in Port Allen, LA. Looking for first-class ship fitters only with shipyard experience. A test will be conducted on-site to assess your capabilities. It primarily repairs work on barges and boats. NO TWIC card is required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience as a 1st class ship fitter
- Outfitting experience
- Must know Ship terminology
- Must lay out and fabricate parts for ships
- Must be able to burn, wash, and bevel with a hand torch
- Must pass a drug test and physical
- Must be able to work all shifts
Responsibilities
- Lays out and fabricates metal structural parts, such as plates, bulkheads, and frames, and braces them in position within the ship's hull for welding.
