About The Position

The Shingles Builder is responsible for installing roofing materials and related components on manufactured homes. This position performs a variety of roofing, sealing, material handling, and quality inspection tasks while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and production specifications.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and production equipment.
  • Good reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Pre-employment drug screen.
  • Hearing test.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing, construction, roofing, or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare roofs for shingle installation by measuring and marking layout lines.
  • Install roofing felt, shingles, ridge vents, and related roofing materials according to specifications.
  • Install vent pipe boots, fireplace boots, and roof penetrations.
  • Install vents for range hoods, microwaves, and other required applications.
  • Seal and waterproof roofing components using approved materials and methods.
  • Complete roofing work in accordance with quality and safety standards.
  • Load and stage roofing materials as needed.
  • Transport materials and supplies throughout the work area.
  • Maintain organization of materials and workspaces.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with production standards and specifications.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including fall protection requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist with rework and repairs as required.
  • Support production goals and team objectives.
  • Maintain work area cleanliness and organization.
  • Actively participate in cross-training and skill development opportunities to increase versatility and support department operations.
  • Maintain proficiency in trained job functions and apply skills as needed to meet business demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
