About The Position

The Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida is hiring a Full-Time SHINE Manager to lead the staff and volunteer counselors dedicated to providing education and support to SWFL's Medicare Beneficiaries. The SHINE Manager is responsible for regulatory compliance related to the federal State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP / SHINE), Medicare Improvements for Patients & Providers Act (MIPPA), and Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Programs. The SHINE Manager serves as a liaison with the volunteer workforce, community agencies, and state grantors. They must be well versed in Medicare policy and maintain state certifications required to counsel beneficiaries, train new volunteers, and present Medicare education to community members. The SHINE Manager ensures accurate service reporting of state-funded activities and strategizes with SHINE staff to achieve monthly contract benchmarks. They are attuned to changing policies and regulations relative to the SHINE, MIPPA, and SMP programs and provide valuable insight to AAASWFL's executive leadership team for the appropriate planning and implementation of future activities. Success in this role calls for self-motivation, flexibility, and strong organization. The candidate should have demonstrated personnel management experience and familiarity with Medicare policy. Travel throughout AAASWFL's seven-county service area is required. All AAASWFL employees must verify employment eligibility via Level II Background Screening.
