The Shift Supervisor will operate state-of-the-art printing presses, monitor production quality, troubleshoot equipment, and participate in training programs. This role is part of a collaborative environment with 160 employee-owners, serving essential markets including food, consumer goods, industrial, and healthcare. The schedule involves working only 15 days per month with a 2-2-3 schedule, featuring 12-hour static night shifts (6:00pm – 6:00am).

Requirements

  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts
  • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with measuring tools
  • Strong communication skills and positive attitude
  • Able to lead and control multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • At least 3-5 years of Leadership experience in a supervisory role, in a manufacturing facility with a focus on quality, safety and accountability.
  • Degree or certification in management or related is desired
  • Must have solid, proven performance showing leadership, quality, safety, and job ability. No previous attendance pattern concerns.
  • Experience and Strength to lead and motivate people
  • Ability to lead and make connections with people while motivating them to achieve results
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and judgment particularly in ambiguous or complex situations.
  • Ability to make big picture, strategic decisions that are well thought out and analyzed
  • Remains calm under pressure and can lead thru difficult situations.

Responsibilities

  • Safety Participation including: First Aid/AED/BBP/CPR certified, Participate in Supervisor Roundtables, Safety Audits, and support Safety Programs (DASH, etc)
  • Act as an effective role model for staff by demonstrating a strong work ethic, promoting the organization positively, allocating time for personal growth, and fostering a positive and safe work environment.
  • Assure safe work practices, compliance, and enforce safety and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all IMS & BRC requirements are followed to maintain continuous certification.
  • Actively participate in CAPA meetings, safety meetings, MDI discussions and 5S activities.
  • Assist staff with the development and implementation of corrective action plans to improve quality and enhance job performance.
  • Review all order packets to ensure accurate completion by Lead Techs, including paperwork, standard and critical quality checks, visual inspections, entry of lot numbers for traceability, and retain procedures.
  • Ensure other production tasks are completed and documented accurately and in a timely manner, including housekeeping records and finished goods labeling.
  • Conduct effective performance evaluations and regular coaching sessions with staff to develop core competencies, address performance improvements, hold staff accountable, and focus on improving performance. Conduct regular coaching and 1:1 sessions to address development, engagement, and performance.
  • Utilize Gallup engagement survey data to develop and engage direct reports.
  • Actively engage with staff to establish and complete training and progression plans.
  • Utilize HRIS system (ADP) to manage attendance, performance reviews, and future People development and management tools.
  • Participate in interviewing and selecting staff for their shift.
  • Maintain a safe workspace and commit to following CNG’s Safety Mission.
