About The Position

Monitors and supervises 3-5 Residential Advisors and their platoons, which consist of 35-40 youth (ages 17-21) in the Sooner Job Challenge Program. This role involves maintaining accountability, discipline, and security within a quasi-military atmosphere, while also serving as a mentor and counselor to the cadets. The position requires planning resources, supervising training, and maintaining support documentation in accordance with NGB and SJC guidelines. Personnel support documentation for staff, including annual ratings, must also be maintained. The shift for this position may rotate due to staffing needs, and the employee will be considered essential personnel, required to work during inclement weather and available to work if called in due to an emergency. The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, requiring shift work and weekend availability.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, including at least 1 year of professional experience working directly with youth.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience is required.
  • Valid DL
  • Ability to speak/communicate orally to a group of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a stressful environment.
  • Computer based skills to work on internet/Google and Microsoft applications.
  • NON MILITARY APPLICANTS must be willing to learn knowledge of military structure and procedures (Drill and Ceremony, Physical Fitness, Customs and Courtesies).
  • Serves a 12 month trial period.
  • Contingent on a favorable NCIC/OSBI background check.
  • Contingent on passing pre-employment drug & alcohol screening.
  • Contingent on a favorable pre-employment physical.
  • Contingent on a favorable MMPI test.
  • T1, child care check security clearance (eligibility for national security positions shall be granted only to persons who are U.S. citizens).
  • Employee will be considered essential personnel (required to work during inclement weather).
  • Available to work if called in due to an emergency.
  • Shift work and working weekends (facility open 24 hours, 7 days a week).
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Tobacco and Vape free facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree not required but is preferred.
  • Experience working in a team/collaborative environment is preferred.
  • Military background preferred, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accountability of all platoons at all times.
  • Maintains discipline and security within a quasi-military atmosphere and develops team-oriented attitude in the cadet corps.
  • Mentor and role model for cadets in the program.
  • Second level counselor and problem solver for the cadets.
  • Enforces program rules and policies.
  • Plans resources and supervises training.
  • Supervises and maintains support documentation as tasked to the Operations Department in accordance with NGB and SJC guidelines.
  • Maintains personnel support documentation on staff personnel assigned, to include annual ratings.
  • Performs additional duties as required.
