About The Position

SBA Home North Carolina is seeking a result-oriented, self-starter Shift Supervisor for its new, highly robotic and automated furniture manufacturing facility. This role will involve supervising and coaching production employees to meet daily and weekly production goals, ensuring proper staffing, and fostering a positive work environment. The position requires coordination with various departments, monitoring production lines for efficiency, and ensuring compliance with processes and quality standards. The role also includes promoting a strong safety culture, investigating incidents, monitoring product quality, identifying improvement opportunities, and completing administrative duties such as production reports and tracking material usage. The facility is set to begin operations in late 2025 and will employ over 250 professionals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Shift Supervisor or leading teams
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment, and safety standards
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules and technical documents
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and support production employees to meet daily and weekly production goals
  • Assign work schedules and ensure proper staffing across production areas
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics teams
  • Monitor production lines to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
  • Ensure compliance with established processes and quality standards
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture
  • Report, investigate, and address incidents and near-misses
  • Monitor product quality during and after production
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce waste
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and employee training
  • Work closely with Quality Control to resolve production issues
  • Complete production reports, timekeeping, and shift documentation
  • Track material usage, scrap, and downtime
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
