About The Position

Restaurant Associates, a leader in dining and event catering for prestigious institutions, is seeking a full-time Shift Supervisor. This role involves directing associate activities during a specific shift, ensuring assigned job expectations are met, and upholding company policies and procedures. The position is based at HarbourVest - 1 Lincoln Street, Boston, MA 02111, and operates Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with evening availability required. Requirements

• Previous catering experience is required.
• Abides by all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to: The use of a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
• The use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
• The use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of associates during a specific shift.
• Oversee that assigned job expectations are completed while policy and procedure is maintained.
• Provide training and create work schedules.
• Evaluate the performance of workers, reward high performers, and discipline employees who fail to meet reasonable standards of work performance.
• Prepare production or sales reports for management.
• Ensure their unit meets the expectations for quality, productivity, and safety.
• Act as the contact person for employees with complaints or requests for time off.
• May act as a mentor, develop employees, and encourage workers to set goals and strive for advancement within the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
