About The Position

The Shift Supervisor will partner with the Dispensary Manager to lead the team. This role should lead by example by being the ultimate illustration of service, dedication, pace, and energy. The Shift Supervisor will also be primarily responsible for receiving deliveries, inputting inventory data, restocking product on the floor, and ensuring that all product remains in FIFO order. The Shift Supervisor should mentor, motivate, elevate, and inspire the team by keeping a positive and can-do attitude at all times. In addition to base pay, employees can earn $5–$7/hour in tips. The role involves following and upholding established policies for sales and customer service, maintaining in-depth knowledge of products and strains, and assisting Patient Care Specialists in patient consultations. Key responsibilities include receiving deliveries, ensuring manifest accuracy, completing and delegating tasks, handling cash, verifying paperwork, maintaining security and safety, organizing and cleaning the store, supporting open communication, reporting issues, sending daily updates, and performing opening and closing duties. The Shift Supervisor will work with the Management team to ensure retail store operations run smoothly, accurately, and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations, including leading onboarding and training of new Patient Care Specialists and completing MOD cash and inventory functions for closing procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years combined dispensary, call center, retail, sales, hospitality, or customer service experience.
  • Excellent computer and technical skills, including experience with web browsers, retail POS systems, and credit card processing terminals.
  • High-level critical thinking, attention to detail, mathematical, language, and reasoning skills.
  • Must be comfortable adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions and decimals, and high-volume cash handling.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
  • Complete any needed assistance including oversight and coverage outside of the assigned region as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in any field preferred.
  • Experience or study emphasis in biology, medicine, horticulture, agriculture, business, management, or hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in partnership with the Dispensary Manager.
  • Receive deliveries, input inventory data, and restock product.
  • Ensure all product remains in FIFO order.
  • Mentor, motivate, elevate, and inspire the team.
  • Follow and uphold established policies for sales and customer service.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and strains and share with the team.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels and communicate action items.
  • Assist Patient Care Specialists in patient consultations.
  • Receive new deliveries in the Inventory Room and ensure manifest accuracy and compliance.
  • Map deliveries in MJ Freeway and report discrepancies.
  • Complete and delegate tasks assigned during a scheduled shift, including cash handling, discount application, verification of paperwork and IDs, security measures, safety compliance, store organization and cleanliness, open communication, and reporting issues.
  • Send end-of-day daily update emails.
  • Perform opening and closing duties.
  • Ensure retail store operations run smoothly, accurately, and in compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Lead onboarding and training of new Patient Care Specialists.
  • Complete MOD cash and inventory functions for closing procedures.
  • Follow all Safety & Security procedures for opening and closing.
