The manufacturing Shift Supervisor will be responsible for setting and clearly communicating goals and objectives for production staff, creating and delegating work schedules and tasks, and ensuring the accuracy of production orders. This role involves monitoring time and attendance, accurately documenting, recording, and reporting all matters related to employees and production. The Shift Supervisor will also be responsible for immediately tending to and creating work orders for down machines and other maintenance and machinery issues. A key part of the role is checking and understanding the Bill of Materials (BOM) before production begins and performing first piece/last piece checks on all orders to ensure they are made to SCS specifications. The position also requires responsibility for scrap reduction and ensuring compliance with all directives from Production Manager, Plant Manager, and the Company. Additionally, the Shift Supervisor will provide quality onboarding and training for new hires and temporary employees, offer daily assistance, training, and support to production employees, and foster a positive and motivating work environment to retain high-performing employees. Ensuring 100% compliance with employment laws and SCS policies, reporting violations to Management, and issuing fair and consistent disciplinary actions are critical. The role carries 100% responsibility for the quality and accuracy of all products and orders, the safety record of the plant, and ensuring employees practice safe work habits and use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The Shift Supervisor is also responsible for the cleanliness of the plant and ensuring all items and tools are returned to their proper places for the next incoming shift. Continuous monitoring of incoming and outgoing material quality and inventory control are also key duties.
