Shift Supervisor
About The Position
Responsible for oversight of residential aides and families assigned to the shelter. Monitors, screens, and oversees all families assigned to the shelter. Responsible for access control, safety and security of all families assigned to the shelter. Works closely with the case management staff to meet the needs of the families. Assists families in developing their ADL skills, housekeeping as needed. Oversight and completion of unit inspections and documentation. Monitor and Supervise food service in the kitchen for the families. Ensure removal of trash from the kitchen and documenting food discarded. Monitor families for adherence to program and hotel rules. Complete wellness checks and responds to family health and mental health needs as needed. Complete incident reports in AWARDS and DHS CARES system. Works collaboratively with and supervises the Resident Aides. Any other duties assigned by the Shelter Director.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- food handlers license
- ability to establish workload priorities and balance diverse caseload
- exceptional communication skills both orally and in writing with individuals and groups regarding complex and sensitive issues or regulations
- Physical ability to perform the essential job functions
Nice To Haves
- bachelor’s degree in related fields
- Previous experience with the homeless population and/or comparable experience in a relative field
