The Shift Supervisor plays a key role in supporting fast-paced 3PL operations within this family-oriented environment that emphasizes personal and professional growth, inclusion, and mentorship.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years supervisory/management experience in a materials and logistics environment.
  • Knowledge of shipping/receiving, warehouse, inventory and material handling operations, methods, and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Strong computer skills related to the use of Microsoft Office products, warehouse and inventory management systems and productivity tracking software.
  • Strong communication skills (written, oral) along with a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Ability to operate and train employees on all equipment associated within a warehousing environment (forklift, deep reach, walkie, RF scanner).

Responsibilities

  • Administer training and certification processes to ensure that all employees are capable of operating material handling equipment (MHE) in a safe and productive manner.
  • Assist the Area Manager in the completion of periodic performance reviews.
  • Provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance using informal discussions; recommend formal progressive disciplinary action to Area Manager.
  • Prioritize workload assignments and communicate priorities throughout the shift.
  • Work closely with the Team Leader and employees to correct errors and resolve day-to-day process problems.
  • Provide leadership on the shift and foster positive employee relations through effective communication.
  • Ensure any maintenance or repair issues for the building facilities, vehicles and equipment area addressed and communicated to the Area Manager.
  • Actively pursue feedback from employees to identify and resolve process or procedural issues to improve productivity and expedite workflow within the shift.
  • Examine and monitor Warehouse employees work for exactness, neatness and conformance to quality and productivity standards, common practice and procedures.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and suggest training in the cultivation and development of employees and team leaders.
  • Exemplify safe work behaviors and champion safe work practices with all employees.
  • Participate in special projects and assignments as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
