About The Position

Cozzini Bros. is America's largest commercial knife rental and knife sharpening service, with over 100 years of experience serving more than 100,000 customers, including major restaurant and grocery chains. We are immediately hiring for a Shift Supervisor to oversee the night shift operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our sharpening facility, meeting production targets, and maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.

Requirements

Comprehensive knowledge of sharpening operations.
Broad range of management skills, with emphasis on leadership, supervision, motivation, communication, and planning.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong team player with a firm, personal commitment toward Cozzini and its customers.
Ability to scale an operation without sacrificing efficiency and reliability during periods of rapid growth.
3-5 or more years of Sharpening and/or Operations experience.
High School or Associates degree required.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of lean/improvement processes/systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

Oversee the overall shift supervision and performance of the sharpening operation.
Direct daily activities including throughput targets, safety, training, and housekeeping.
Assign resources to achieve management and performance of sharpening operations, including sharpening, staffing, safety, training, throughput, quality, and security.
Ensure all employees are trained, engaged, and managed effectively.
Deliver facility goals by supervising staff, organizing and monitoring workflow for efficient operation.
Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results.
Facilitate the direction of all sharpening operations, including knife sharpness quality, knife box integrity, safety, equipment maintenance and calibration, shift throughput, sanitation/cleanliness, and personnel training.
Facilitate improvement initiatives, company objectives, productivity standards, and cost control goals.
Assist in planning short and long-range labor needs based on production requirements.
Ensure the security of the facility, its environs, employees, and contents, and conduct regular instruction in good security practices.
