About The Position

Wedgwood Christian Services is seeking a Shift Supervisor to provide direct care within their residential behavioral health program serving adolescent girls (ages 12-17) in the Cook Claus Program. This specialized program focuses on girls healing from trafficking and sexual trauma. The Shift Supervisor will serve as both a mentor to youth and a leader to staff, ensuring consistency in care, guiding daily operations, and supporting a therapeutic environment grounded in trauma-informed practices. The role involves maintaining structure, coaching staff, and ensuring high-quality care on every shift. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about behavioral health, trauma-informed residential care, human trafficking, youth advocacy, and therapeutic mentorship.

Requirements

  • At least 20 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and safely perform physical interventions when necessary
  • Ability to bend, twist, and support movement in a residential setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to direct care staff during assigned shifts.
  • Coordinate staff assignments to ensure appropriate coverage and effective treatment support.
  • Ensure completion of all shift responsibilities, including documentation, medication administration, and scheduled programming.
  • Support and guide staff in implementing individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and mentorship to promote staff development and team cohesion.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new staff as assigned.
  • Create and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment grounded in the Sanctuary Model® (safety, emotional intelligence, open communication, and social learning).
  • Build consistent, mentoring relationships with youth using trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches.
  • Utilize verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques to support behavioral regulation.
  • Model and teach healthy communication, problem-solving, and daily living skills.
  • Support youth in developing life skills, self-worth, and positive identity formation.
  • Engage in structured recreational and skill-building activities.
  • Administer medications as assigned and support physical wellness routines.
  • Support residents' health needs, including first aid response and coordination of medical care.
  • Transport residents to appointments, school, work, or community activities as needed.
  • Document and maintain accurate records in alignment with behavioral health standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all agency policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.
