About The Position

Now hiring! Shift Supervisor - Surfactants Packaging Geismar, LA We are seeking a professional like you to join our team as a Shift Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for Supervising work activities of the Shift Operations Team to ensure safe operation of the the Surfactants Packaging. The primary area of responsibility for this role is the production unit area. Come create chemistry with us! As a Shift Supervisor - Surfactants Packaging, you create chemistry by... Lead Operators to ensure consistency and accountability across all shifts, including conflict management. Ensures compliance with all EHS requirements, promotes a safe work environment. Directs equipment and process adjustments based on previous shift activities, review of operator's and supervisor's logs, physical survey, and laboratory test results, and records all production and operational data in logs provided. Directs activities of Daily Operations Team personnel in event of emergencies and any other activities in the plant until relieved. Instructs and trains new operators and keeps the Shifts up to date on Management of Change issues and SOP revisions and required regulatory training. Daily alignment with maintenance gatekeeper regarding priorities, maintenance schedule, and equipment preparation. Collaborates and work with production engineers, technology team, and various support groups to resolves operational issues, improvements, modifications, and optimization efforts. Compliance with the union collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and understands, applies, and consults with Labor Relations in the administration of the CBA. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • 5+ years of operational and/or maintenance experience
  • Strong leadership skills required to direct Operators to produce quality chemicals in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Solid coaching skills required to develop Operators in the understanding of the chemical plant operation, and to grow their awareness of technical and business issues.
  • Effective interpersonal skills are required to interface with Daily Operations Team (DOT), Daily Support Team (DST), Technical Engineering Services Team (TES), Lab, Technology Group, contractors, and outside vendors.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills to help in the resolution of problems in the different manufacturing areas that affect plant performance.
  • Leveraging good organization skills to be able to prioritize day-to-day plant issues while supporting day staff needs to facilitate further plant optimization.
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft software (outlook, word, excel, OneNote) and SAP.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
