As a Packaging Supervisor at Barrett Petfood, you'll oversee daily operations within the packaging department, ensuring that processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will lead a dedicated team, facilitating training and fostering collaboration to meet production goals. You'll be expected to monitor quality control, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions that align with our commitment to safety and innovation. Your typical schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, allowing you to maintain a work-life balance while driving high-performance outcomes. Daily tasks will include conducting team meetings, reviewing packaging reports, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with company standards. You'll also engage directly with other departments to ensure customer-centricity remains at the forefront of our packaging processes.

Responsibilities

  • Check machine centerlines to confirm machines are operating at their best and are producing high quality products consistently
  • Ensure machine rates are maintained throughout department
  • Balance line inventory after a packaging job is complete to make sure they are correct in Barrett's ERP system, Plex
  • True-up any product over 2,000lb, in Plex, that was not physically consumed
  • Help with decisions on scheduling and priorities for packaging lines
  • Organize daily staffing of packaging lines
  • Schedule & organize packaging team during dry cleans, wet cleans, and down time
  • Pet food rework scheduling & staffing
  • Verify labels and lot codes on products
  • Support packaging leads with decision making
  • Hold packaging team accountable to performance and quality expectations
  • Coach, reward, and recognize packaging team
  • Assigned other duties as needed
