About The Position

Agru America, Inc., a global corporation with over 70 years of manufacturing plastics, is seeking motivated individuals to join their growing team in Georgetown, South Carolina. The company is a world-leading manufacturer of plastics and geosynthetics. This role may require travel to Charleston, SC for a training period.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience as a production shift/team lead
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment +2 years
  • Experience as a machine mechanic
  • Overhead crane experience
  • Forklift experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if necessary
  • Ability to troubleshoot and multitask
  • Basic mathematic skills
  • Team player who is reliable and trustworthy
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • This position requires, but is not limited to, standing, walking, utilizing stairs or ladders, driving automatic forklift, climbing, squatting, stooping, twisting, bending, grabbing and grasping
  • Must be able to work in a non-controlled environment

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
  • Technical degree or certification
  • Experience with 5s
  • Some electrical experience
  • Quality control experience

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations on the production floor
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Monitor production processes and address any issues that arise
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to enhance performance
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflow and efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records of production metrics and report on performance
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity
  • Maintain production machines and work with maintenance on upkeep of equipment
  • Any other duties that the Company in its sole discretion may assign as needed
