About The Position

Responsible for oversight of residential aides and families assigned to the shelter. This role involves monitoring, screening, and overseeing all families assigned to the shelter, ensuring access control, safety, and security. The Shift Supervisor works closely with case management staff to meet family needs, assists with ADL skills and housekeeping, and oversees unit inspections and documentation. Additionally, the role includes monitoring food service in the kitchen, ensuring proper disposal of trash and documenting discarded food, and monitoring families for adherence to program and hotel rules. The position also requires completing wellness checks, responding to health and mental health needs, and completing incident reports in the AWARDS and DHS CARES system. The Shift Supervisor collaborates with and supervises Resident Aides and performs any other duties assigned by the Shelter Director.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Food handlers license
  • Ability to establish workload priorities and balance diverse caseload.
  • Exceptional communication skills both orally and in writing with individuals and groups regarding complex and sensitive issues or regulations.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assists families in developing their ADL skills, housekeeping as needed.
  • Oversight and completion of unit inspections and documentation.
  • Monitor and Supervise food service in the kitchen for the families.
  • Ensure removal of trash from the kitchen and documenting food discarded.
  • Monitor families for adherence to program and hotel rules.
  • Complete wellness checks and responds to family health and mental health needs as needed.
  • Complete incident reports in AWARDS and DHS CARES system.
  • Works collaboratively with and supervises the Resident Aides.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Shelter Director.
