About The Position

The Shift Operations Supervisor is responsible for supporting operational performance by effectively managing expenses, ensuring compliance with federal meat inspection and OSHA regulations, and enforcing company policies. This role partners closely with department leaders to meet production, quality, yield, and labor goals while maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping, sanitation, and security. The Supervisor will oversee production supervisors, ensure accurate recordkeeping, address operational challenges with sound problem‑solving and follow‑up, and support manpower planning for assigned shifts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3–5 years of industry-related experience (meat processing experience preferred)
  • 1–3 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with standard computer applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, safety, sanitation, quality, yields, cost control, and efficiencies
  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
  • Manage subordinate supervisors who oversee plant team members
  • Interview, hire, train, and develop employees
  • Assign and direct daily work activities
  • Evaluate performance and provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action as needed
  • Address employee concerns and resolve workplace issues
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and applicable laws
