The Shift Manager is a shift-based, front-line supply and operations people leader with high drive for engagement and responsible for delivering safety, quality, continuous improvement, performance management, training, associate development, transformation and change, team engagement and operating results for their assigned area. The Shift Manager is responsible for leading a team of approximately 10 associates, providing operational expertise while producing quality product, meeting schedule and design specifications at optimum cost in a safe, hygienic work environment. They will educate, promote, and develop the team's operational mindset around efficiency, safety, quality, and service. The role leverages MSE processes to sustain or improve the performance of several machines and modular areas within the factory. The Shift Manager will escalate issues in alignment with protocol and ensure follow-through on actions, providing full and accurate verbal and written handover. They will lead problem-solving activities within the shift, focused on top losses, and drive a high level of associate engagement within the team. This includes developing associates through the PDP program, addressing performance issues in a timely manner, and recognizing exceptional performance. The role also focuses on reducing changeover and sanitation times through lean tools, driving site continuous improvement initiatives and projects using shift resources in conjunction with site engineering and CI resources. Additionally, the Shift Manager supports business systems development by ensuring all systems transactions are completed, accurate, and reported at the end of the shift, and provides direction for third-party temps, contractors, and vendors. They are responsible for executing standard daily work and adhering to all Quality and Food Safety Policies and applicable procedures.
