This role involves managing the Security Department, including staffing, scheduling, evaluations, training, and development of the team. The Shift Manager is responsible for the Security Shift Supervisors, Security Officers, and Emergency Medical Technicians, safeguarding company assets, and enforcing company policies and regulations, including those from the Indiana Gaming Commission. The position also requires reviewing incident reports, assisting with new team member training, escorting cash and chips, maintaining patron relations, and aiding in the preparation of legal defenses. Additionally, the role involves managing claims logs, the Emergency Response Manual, and safety equipment inspections. The Shift Manager identifies and addresses safety issues, conducts investigations, maintains regulatory paperwork, and may administer first aid or provide EMT services if licensed. The role also focuses on maintaining harmony among workers and resolving grievances and complaints. The Shift Manager must be able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods, work in an environment with secondhand smoke, loud noises, and large crowds, adhere to company service standards, and be available for varied hours, holidays, and weekends. Additional duties as a Risk and Safety Manager include managing the property Safety Program, serving as Vice Chairperson for the Safety Committee, conducting new hire safety training, and handling various administrative tasks for the Risk Management department. The role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Security unit, carrying out management responsibilities in accordance with company policies and laws, including interviewing, training, assigning work, appraising performance, and resolving problems.
