About The Position

Cleveland-Cliffs, Coshocton Works, located in East Central Ohio, a stainless finishing operation and one of the nation’s leading producers of flat rolled stainless steel, has an immediate opening for an Operations Shift Manager. This role involves the administration of company policies and procedures, supervising and providing work direction to hourly bargaining unit employees, and participating in and implementing the safety program goals to ensure a safe work environment. The Shift Manager will adhere to the Quality Policy to promote continuous improvement and attain results through effective planning, organizing, controlling, and assignment of priorities. They will maintain effective and consistent work performance, even under uncertain or unstructured conditions in the face of stress, and identify basic problems, gather information, and analyze effectively. Decision-making will focus on safety, quality, environmental, and productivity. The role also includes assisting in the development, review, and update of JHSA's (Job Safety and Health Analysis) and QSOP’s (Quality Standard Operating Procedures).

Requirements

  • Supervisory experience in a business environment
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts, holidays and weekends when required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in technical, engineering, or business discipline
  • Three+ years of supervisor experience in an industrial union environment

Responsibilities

  • Administration of company policies and procedures

  • Maintain effective and consistent work performance, even under uncertain or unstructured conditions in the face of stress
  • Identify basic problem(s), gather the appropriate information, and analyze in an effective manner
  • Make decisions with a clear business focus on safety, quality, environmental, and productivity
  • Assist in the development, review, and update of JHSA's (Job Safety and Health Analysis) to eliminate safety hazards and QSOP’s (Quality Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Other duties as assigned
