About The Position

The Shift Manager of Maintenance leads on-site Maintenance, Engineering, and Systems operations during off-shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays, serving as the department lead when senior leaders are not on site. This role directs after-hours work, coordinates emergencies, ensures safety, customer service, and facility reliability across all venues, and acts as the primary after-hours contact for internal clients, event operations, and vendors.

Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science in a related Engineering, Building Maintenance, or Facility Management field, or high school diploma (or equivalent) plus 2 additional years equivalent job-related experience.
  • 3+ years experience at the supervisor or manager level preferred.
  • Progressive experience in maintenance, engineering, or facilities operations, preferably in a large, complex, or convention/hospitality environment, including with building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and building automation/controls systems.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work orders, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of safety practices and regulations, including OSHA, EPA, ADA, building codes, and AHJ standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, event-driven environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers and de-escalate issues in real time.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, scheduling tools, and interpreting data insights and reports.
  • Ability and willingness to work designated evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and other shifts as needed.
  • Valid Nevada driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain required OSHA certifications to operate department vehicles and lifts (forklifts, aerial lifts, scissor lifts).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Facility Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with AI tools to support routine tasks, improve work quality, and enhance decision-making is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead off-shift and after-hours maintenance, engineering, and systems operations for building, grounds, and MEP trades on nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Serve as on-site departmental lead and decision-maker, coordinating with CSMs, Services, Security, and building partners to meet customer needs.
  • Use resources wisely and meet budget expectations while seeking to improve productivity.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor work for off-shift supervisors and Ambassadors to align staffing and resources with event and operational demands.
  • Coordinate, prioritize, and close work orders in the CMMS with accurate coding, documentation, and time entry for after-hours work.
  • Monitor building performance and systems, including BMS (Building Management Systems)/ controls, initiating troubleshooting, corrective actions, or escalation as required.
  • Direct after-hours emergency response (power, HVAC, plumbing, structural, life safety, weather), ensuring safe, timely mitigation and communication to leadership.
  • Enforce safety and regulatory standards so all work complies with LVCVA policies, OSHA, EPA, ADA, building codes, and AHJ requirements, while conducting and documenting regular safety inspections, safety talks, training, and shop/field checks for off-shift teams.
  • Coach and develop Ambassadors, strengthening technical skills, safety practices, customer service, and effective use of systems such as CMMS and BMS.
  • Provide input on staffing, scheduling, performance, recognition, and training needs for off-shift personnel.
  • Prepare and submit shift reports, incident logs, work order status, and key performance metrics while supporting departmental procedures, budgets, standards, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to management of workforce regarding hiring, training, and evaluating staff.
  • Share clear data to help leaders make good choices.
