About The Position

Playa Bowls is New Jersey's Original Acai Shop, founded in 2014 with the mission to serve high-quality, innovative products that support healthier lifestyles and inspire fun, excitement, and togetherness. The company has grown from a small operation to a 300-unit franchisor. As a Shift Leader, you are an extension of management, trusted to lead the shop in management's absence. The role requires comfort in delegating tasks, excelling in a fast-paced environment, and embracing career growth, innovation, and a passion for healthy food.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work 5 shifts a week, minimum of 30 hours a week
  • Must be available weekends but expected to work as the business dictates
  • Must pass the required Managers Food Safety certification
  • Committed to delivering exceptional customer service by providing friendly, attentive service and ensuring satisfaction with every guest interaction.
  • Ability to lead by example and adhere to company policies to foster a positive and collaborative work environment and support team development.
  • Proven ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced dynamic environment, quickly adjusting to changing priorities and customers’ needs to maintain seamless operations.
  • Skilled at prioritizing multiple responsibilities simultaneously, such as managing team productivity and assisting with customer service.
  • Clear and effective communication with team members, managers, and customers with the ability to delegate tasks and provide instructions concisely.
  • Ability to stay composed and think quickly under pressure, handling disputes or challenges among team members or customers professionally and calmly
  • Demonstrate empathy, understanding and active listening skills when addressing concerns or ideas towards team members and customers
  • Ensuring adherence to food safety standards and operational protocols and monitoring team performance to ensure quality in product preparation and presentation

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the quality of food, discarding product when necessary
  • Delegate work to employees in an appropriate and responsible manner
  • Responsible for leading opening and closing shifts
  • Manage and issue refunds
  • Solve customer issues in a polite and professional manner
  • Manage and record inventory levels throughout the shift and at the end of the night
  • Count the register, safe, and deposit
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding any issues throughout the shift
  • Ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with company standards
  • Lives the Playa Bowls mission, purpose, and values
