About The Position
At 85°C Bakery Cafe, we bring together the craft of baking and a genuine passion for hospitality. As a Shift Leader, you set the tone for every shift you run. You'll lead the team across the storefront and kitchen, deliver an outstanding guest experience, and help associates do their best work. It's a hands-on leadership role and the first step on our management path.
Requirements
- 6+ months of restaurant, food service, or retail experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong communication and people skills — a natural motivator and team player.
- Dependable, punctual, and comfortable leading on the floor.
- Availability of ~30+ hours per week, including holidays, weekends and holidays.
- This position requires moderate physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting.
- This position requires nearly continuous standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead.
- Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures of coolers and freezers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team during your shift, keeping service and operations running smoothly across the storefront and kitchen.
- Coach and train associates to meet 85°C's standards for quality and hospitality.
- Create memorable guest experiences and resolve issues in the moment.
- Uphold quality, food safety, cleanliness, and health & safety standards.
- Help open or close the store and keep each shift on time and on standard.
