This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. See the table at the end. ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for an Production Supervisor to lead production of flight battery hardware for varies production lines.

Requirements

  • Degree in a related field - manufacturing, operations - or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Three or more years in production, assembly, or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience leading or directing the work of others.
  • Experience working to controlled work instructions and maintaining quality records.
  • MRP, ERP, Outlook (excel, word, email) proficiency for schedule, shortage, and inventory analysis.
  • Designated shift with occasional extended hours and floor-based physical demands.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined by U.S. export control regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising battery, high-voltage, or electromechanical assembly.
  • Experience in an AS9100, ISO 9001, or equivalent controlled quality environment.
  • Formal continuous improvement training - Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Experience planning or scheduling in an MRP environment, including Experience supporting rate sustainment, a rate increase, or a new line startup.
  • Experience with electronic work order execution, travelers, and buyoffs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a production team - assignments, coverage, cross-training, overtime, attendance, timecards, and certification currency.
  • Assist in hiring, coaching, and managing performance; partner with HR on employee relations and conflict management, and with EHS on ergonomics and restricted duty.
  • Own daily execution of the build plan - production board, throughput to rate, labor efficiency, and blocker escalation.
  • Own quality and workmanship - released work instructions, records and buyoffs complete before hardware moves, yield and defect trends, and corrective action to closure. Exercise stop-work authority and lead containment of quality escapes.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality on stoppages, nonconformances, rework, and work instruction accuracy; communicate configuration changes and train the team; support audits.
  • Own floor safety and compliance - high voltage, stored energy, lithium-ion, ESD, lockout/tagout, PPE, hazardous material and battery waste, FOD, housekeeping, and export control; investigate incidents and near misses; lead first response to battery events as area emergency response lead.
  • Run daily Gemba and shift handoff; lead continuous improvement - 5S, standard work, layout, and cycle time; support business reviews with metrics and recovery plans; manage controllable costs and support new product introduction and rate increases.
