About The Position

Global Connections to Employment (GCE) is a nationwide team providing jobs for people with significant disabilities, including our war-wounded veterans. Since its establishment in 1986, GCE has helped match team members to fulfilling careers, from custodial services to facilities maintenance and food services, plus other business lines in between. Working with customers from the U.S. military, commercial business and community partners – as well as federal, state and local governments – GCE is one of the country’s largest private employers of persons with disabilities. The Shift Leader is responsible for safely performing contract duties as assigned by management. Quality customer service is expected to be provided at all times. Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the job is a requirement of the position.

Requirements

A minimum of two (2) years of experience in custodial or related services.
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a lead or supervisory role.
Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.
Ability to interact appropriately with customers and team members.
Physically able to perform general tasks detailed in the assigned contract.
Ability to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings, as appropriate.
Must be able to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds.
Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Safely performing contract duties as assigned by management.
Providing quality customer service at all times.
Learning all aspects of the job.
Supporting the group effort by working independently as needed.
Interacting appropriately with customers and team members.
Performing general tasks detailed in the assigned contract.
Following Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements.
Removing snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snow shovels or snowplows.
