About The Position

At Dutch Bros Coffee, the Shift Lead helps uphold the company’s vision, culture, and core values on every shift. The role is a servant-leader position responsible for communicating feedback to leadership, handling necessary shift duties, and helping the crew focus on delivering the company’s values and a positive customer experience. The Shift Lead leads the experience for Broistas on shift, models the Broista role, trains new team members operationally and culturally, and helps maintain shop readiness, inventory, cleanliness, and quality standards. The position requires availability for at least 32 hours per week and a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Requirements

No disciplinary action during the past 90 days; disciplinary action is defined as a coaching conversation resulting in formal documentation with signatures.
Successfully complete the most recent flowcheck with a score of at least 90% and on time.
Obtain and maintain a Food Handler Permit or Certification as required by state or local regulations.
Complete, pass, and maintain required certificates, training, and knowledge tests under Dutch Bros standards and applicable company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
Be available to work at least 32 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Be available to work Shift Lead shifts and attend shop meetings and culture-building events.
Demonstrate the Broista Levels of Leadership expectations, including communication, effort, skill, attitude, resilience, and optimism.
Meet the physical requirements of the role, including prolonged standing and walking, occasional lifting or carrying up to 65 pounds, and frequent wrist and spine movement.

Nice To Haves

Six months of Broista experience at Dutch Bros is preferred.

Responsibilities

Uphold Dutch Bros’ vision, culture, and core values on every shift.
Communicate internal and external feedback, wins, and opportunities for improvement to shop leadership.
Cultivate the Dutch Bros atmosphere and standards, help solve shift problems, and ensure Broistas meet expectations.
Prepare Broistas for specials and promotions and help maintain the energy and attitude needed to serve customers.
Model and meet all expectations of the Broista role and demonstrate expertise in drink and operational fundamentals.
Train new Broistas operationally and culturally, provide a fun-loving environment, and cover the Manifesto during training.
Help the Shop Manager and Shop Lead with inventory management and other delegated duties.
Prepare the next shift by counting tills, making bank deposits, restocking and putting away inventory, and meeting cleanliness standards.
Attend mandatory meetings and be present for shop meetings and culture-building events.
Follow company policies and procedures in the Shift Lead Field Guide and Employee Handbook.
Help ensure shop setup and cleanliness standards are met.
Follow up with Quality Assurance inspections and accountability processes alongside the Shop Lead and Shop Manager.
