About The Position

The Shift Lead (SL) is responsible for ensuring food safety, a positive guest experience, efficient operations, and effective labor management during their shift. This role involves leading the team from the floor, coaching in the moment, and making smart operational decisions to maintain restaurant standards and profitability. The Shift Lead is expected to set a high standard for the team, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently while adhering to company policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old or older.
  • Possess a minimum of 6 months in a shift management or supervisory role, preferably in a service-related business.
  • Legal right to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly with a can-do attitude.
  • Comes to work with good hygiene.
  • Has reliable transportation and able to arrive to work on time.
  • A positive, friendly, and courteous attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Internal promote who has completed all required learning zone training and certifications.
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the Food Safety Significant checklist, critical line temp chart, and enforce proper handwashing procedures.
  • Ensure fast, friendly service and 100% accurate orders for every guest.
  • Drive execution across every position on the shift by coaching and correcting as needed.
  • Manage prep and hold times according to the Prep Guide to ensure kitchen efficiency and safety.
  • Deploy the team with intention, adjusting resources based on business needs and making smart labor calls.
  • Greet customers with a friendly demeanor and accurately take their orders.
  • Prepare and package food and drink products according to restaurant standards.
  • Operate cash registers, process payments, and provide change to guests.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant.
  • Assist with food prep and dishwashing as needed.
  • Restock inventory and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and policies.
  • Promote new menu items and provide recommendations.
  • Assist with opening and closing tasks.
  • Manage shifts to ensure fair employee treatment and compliance with workplace laws and regulations.
  • Offer ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Assist with any safety concerns in the workplace.
  • Report any serious issues to their manager and HR as needed.
  • Conduct food safety and prep audits daily.
  • Conduct daily inventory monitors performance and shares responsibility for cash procedures.
