About The Position

New York Pilates is hiring Shift Leads for their Southampton and Bridge Hampton studios. As a Shift Lead, you will provide leadership support during scheduled shifts, acting as the Manager on Duty when senior leadership is not on-site. You are responsible for overseeing daily operations, delegating tasks, and ensuring a seamless studio experience for both students and team members. This role is hands-on and fast-paced. You will lead check-in and scheduling operations, support inventory and supply management, and coordinate team responsibilities to drive efficiency and elevated customer service. Shift Leads work alongside the team while also holding the authority to guide performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure all tasks are completed to NYP standards. You will play a key role in maintaining studio flow, resolving scheduling or equipment issues, managing employee absences, and ensuring timely student communication. Additionally, you will train Front Desk Reps on sales performance and stepping in to execute studio operations as needed. Reporting to the Studio Manager, this role is on-site for all scheduled shifts and requires availability across weekends and holidays, in line with peak Hamptons business needs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in retail, hospitality, or boutique fitness environments
  • Proven experience in sales and customer experience
  • Ability to stay organized and responsive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Comfortable navigating scheduling and POS systems (e.g., Mindbody)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods (4–6 hours per shift)
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs occasionally
  • Team-oriented with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years in a leadership, keyholder, or supervisory role preferred

Responsibilities

  • Act as Manager on Duty: Lead shifts independently, assign tasks, supervise team members, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Drive Sales Performance: Support and achieve studio sales goals through strong product knowledge and relationship-building
  • Maintain NYP Standards: Ensure brand standards, studio presentation, and equipment are consistently upheld. Support class turnover with light cleaning and equipment resets.
  • Student Experience: Build relationships with students, resolve issues efficiently, and create a welcoming, high-touch environment
  • Team Coordination: Manage attendance, delegate responsibilities, and support overall team performance and accountability
  • Operations Oversight: Support inventory, opening/closing procedures, and studio organization
  • Compliance & Communication: Follow company policies and ensure clear communication across team members
  • Other duties as assigned
