The Shift Lead performs the duties of a Client Services Coordinator or Vet Assistant when not filling in or assisting the Practice Manager or Chief of Staff. This role guides the team to maximize the productivity and profitability of the hospital and works with the Practice Manager and/or Chief of Staff (COS) to ensure effective communication with all clients and internal stakeholders and colleagues. The ideal candidate enjoys assisting and supporting hospital leadership in developing an efficient, productive team that provides the highest quality care and service to pets and clients. They will follow Banfield protocols and practices, focusing the team to achieve practice priorities while building culture and brand. This role involves day-to-day supervision of the team when called upon, ensuring quality medical care, exceptional client service, associate engagement, and maximum productivity. The Shift Lead helps create an environment where the team can deliver quality, efficient, and effective veterinary care to pets, fostering an environment that engages associates to do their best and feel good about being part of the team. They provide professional, efficient, and exceptional client service by example, ensuring all associates do the same. This includes client education about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventive care, pet health needs, hospital services, marketing campaigns, and other related information, and effectively resolving client issues. The Shift Lead also assists in effectively scheduling associates to meet client needs, while proactively planning time off and CE scheduling, and ensures compliance with all practice policies and procedures, including adherence to Banfield dress and grooming guidelines.
