About The Position

Waters Edge Winery & Bistro is seeking an experienced and personable Shift Lead to oversee daily guest-facing operations and ensure an exceptional dining experience. This role is responsible for managing the host team, servers, and bartenders while maintaining high standards of service, organization, and hospitality. The ideal candidate is a natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in delivering outstanding guest experiences. This position plays a key role in setting the tone for service and supporting the overall success of the restaurant.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in restaurant front of house or hospitality leadership role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Experience with POS systems and reservation platforms preferred
  • Wine knowledge or interest in wine preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily front of house operations including host stand, dining room, and bar service
  • Lead, train, and support servers, hosts, bartenders, and support staff
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and resolve guest concerns professionally
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and table flow to maximize efficiency
  • Maintain a welcoming and polished dining environment
  • Collaborate with kitchen and management team to ensure smooth service
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new front of house staff
  • Monitor service quality and provide coaching and feedback to team members
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service guidelines
  • Support special events, tastings, and private bookings
  • Maintain knowledge of menu offerings including wine, food, and specials
