With a significant global presence serving millions of cups of tea monthly, CHAGEE is excited to expand into the US market and is looking for individuals to be part of this journey. In this Shift Lead role, you will support baristas with drink preparation, manage the POS system, demonstrate excellent customer service, handle customer feedback, and uphold company values. You will also assist managers in assigning tasks, delegation of duties, and opening/closing procedures. Additionally, you will support the team in delivering high-quality customer service, coaching baristas through On-Job-Training, and practicing a high standard for hospitality. You will also assist in addressing customer complaints and de-escalation solutions. While not responsible for creating schedules, you may need to aid with call-off coverage. You will have some awareness of sales performance, assist in marketing and promotion activities, and ensure store inventory is arranged and managed properly, including forecasting usage and supporting with ordering and receiving.

  • Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Position requires prolonged periods of standing and/or walking
  • May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling and stooping
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, and POS equipment
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs

  • Food Handling Certificate Needed (Company can assist)

Responsibilities

  • Support baristas with hands-on drink preparation, especially during peak hours.
  • Manage the POS with cash handling and credit card transactions.
  • Demonstrate an excellent level of customer service.
  • Handle customer feedback with sincerity and professionalism.
  • Lead by example by upholding company values and promoting a positive team culture.
  • Assist managers in assigning barista staff tasks and delegation of duties per shift as needed.
  • Aid with opening and/or closing store procedures and protocols.
  • Support the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in ensuring the team is able to deliver high-quality and excellent customer service.
  • Support store and assistant managers with coaching for skill with baristas by conducting On-Job-Training (OJT).
  • Participate and complete company trainings when necessary.
  • Practice a high standard for hospitality and our mission to "make friends through tea".
  • Assist in addressing customer complaints and de-escalation solutions.
  • Aid with call-off coverage as needed.
  • Have some awareness of sales performance and assist operations where needed.
  • Assist in marketing & promotion activities.
  • Ensure store inventory is arranged and managed properly.
  • Help to forecast inventory usage and delivery.
  • Support management with ordering and receiving inventory as needed.
