About The Position

The Shelter Technician II will be responsible for using hand tools and related equipment for performing the day to day assembly and/or sub assembly work related to production. This role involves fabricating sub-assemblies, installing plumbing and electrical hardware, creating and modifying drawings, and maintaining records. The technician will also work with computerized equipment, perform heavy lifting, and maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and quality. A good attendance record, self-motivation, and a willingness to learn are essential.

Requirements

  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude to design and build product without drawings
  • Knowledge of fastener characteristics and grip ranges
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Ability to perform operations that may require heavy lifting
  • Must be safety, quality conscious and dependable

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate sub-assemblies from raw material.
  • Install basic plumbing and electrical hardware and equipment.
  • Create baseline drawings for new products.
  • Red-line existing drawings to accommodate changes.
  • Keep various records as required.
  • Work with computerized equipment, as necessary.
  • Perform operations that may require heavy lifting.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safety standards, and be quality conscious.
  • Maintain good attendance record, be self motivated, with a willingness to learn.
  • All other duties as assigned.
