The primary purpose of this position is to provide support, crisis intervention, and safety planning to individuals and families staying at the Lewis House emergency shelter who have experienced domestic abuse and/or sexual assault, and to answer crisis hotline calls. The shelter operates and is staffed 24/7. This is a Relief or on-call position. Relief staff are expected to pick up and work a minimum of 2 shifts per month to remain employed. Availability of hours can be for unplanned absences such as call-ins or planned absence coverage such as picking up shifts for those on vacation. Opportunities for hours on day, evening, night shift and weekends are available. Relief staff are eligible for the employer matching retirement account and earn sick and safe time.
