About The Position

This position involves constructing and assembling components of trailer assemblies using various tools. The Sheeter will work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, sample parts, and written/verbal instructions. A key aspect of the role is ensuring product quality and adherence to specifications and standards. The position also requires participation in lean manufacturing processes and the flexibility to assist in other departments as needed. Regular attendance and timely completion of quality products are critical.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16’s of an inch.
  • Ability to use a plasma torch and other necessary tools.
  • Ability to work effectively with your team and other teams.
  • Familiarity with product construction and application.
  • Provide quality work at the source.
  • Be an organized individual.
  • Be self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and/or priorities.
  • Easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Maintain regular work schedule to ensure product flow.
  • Required to stand and move about the facility for prolonged periods of time (up to an entire 8-hour shift and overtime).
  • Able to stoop, bend, twist, squat, and kneel.
  • Required to use hands and arms to repetitively grip, twist, squeeze, and use tools throughout the shift.
  • Frequent and repetitive lifting of up to 25 lbs. throughout the shift.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs. individually throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely and effectively handle necessary tools.
  • Must wear Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes, and Hearing Protection.

Nice To Haves

  • Capable of welding aluminum parts using a mig welder.

Responsibilities

  • Construct and assemble components of trailer assemblies using electric, pneumatic, and hand-powered tools.
  • Verify product conformance with appropriate specifications and standards from work orders and drawings.
  • Measure, mark, cut, and machine parts on machines such as tube bender, bandsaw, or plasma torch.
  • Confer and collaborate with other sheeters and/or supervisors to resolve product or process problems.
  • Adhere to and sustain lean manufacturing processes (5-S, Point of Use Storage, Kanban systems).
  • Float to other departments as needed by the Company.
  • Follow all policies and procedures as directed by Cimarron Trailers.
  • Ensure quality product is completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
