Sheeter Lead
About The Position
The role of the Group Leader-Sheeting is to provide guidance to employees in the department in the Supervisor’s absence. This role involves demonstrating commitment to safety and quality, reading work orders to ensure proper product production, maintaining accurate production records, and communicating information effectively to team members and supervisors. The Group Leader is also responsible for ensuring high levels of production and efficiency, maintaining a clean and safe work area, training new operators, overseeing general preventive maintenance on equipment, and operating equipment as necessary to maintain productivity. Additionally, the role requires working with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance, understanding department communication systems, and performing other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Read work orders to determine properly preformed products are produced.
- Maintain accurate production records.
- Communicate information as needed to employees, shift supervisor and next shift group leader or machine operator.
- Ensure high levels of production, maximizing efficiency with planned work assignments.
- Maintain a clean work area ensuring a safe working environment.
- Train new operators as needed.
- Oversee general preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Operate equipment as necessary to maintain productivity during the operator’s absence.
- Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment.
- Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
- Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements.
