About The Position

As part of the Stainless Partitions department, the Sheet Metal Worker sets up and operates complex fabrication machines and equipment, maintains tolerances specified on blueprints, and follows routing sequences. The role operates and edits programs for CNC equipment and verifies work against blueprints and routings. The employee learns to operate CNC brake presses, punch presses, and/or lasers to produce sheet metal components to specification, while supporting production, quality, safety, and continuous improvement activities. This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and is onsite at the company’s manufacturing facility in Germantown, Wisconsin. Scheduled work hours will be communicated by the manager. The role requires standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, close vision, moving around the manufacturing floor, reading documents, communicating clearly, and wearing required personal protective equipment. The position requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience. One or more years of sheet metal forming experience is preferred. Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures.
Must establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Learn to set up and operate CNC brake presses, punch presses, and/or lasers to produce sheet metal components according to precise specifications.
Make simple machine adjustments as directed to maintain part accuracy.
Monitor equipment during operation and promptly report issues to the supervisor.
Learn to read and follow basic work instructions and simple blueprints.
Conduct basic visual inspections of parts and notify the team lead or supervisor of quality concerns.
Follow daily work assignments and maintain job status updates as instructed.
Use basic hand tools and department-specific equipment safely and correctly.
Suggest simple ideas to improve workflow and support continuous improvement.
Collaborate with team members across departments to meet production goals.
Participate in on-the-job training and assist experienced operators as needed.
Learn and follow standard safety practices and complete required equipment-operation certifications.
Support other department functions and undertake other projects or duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Supervisor or company management.
Comply with safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment.
Maintain a clean, organized work area and promptly report unsafe conditions or practices.
