About The Position

Cobra Mechanical is looking for a Sheet Metal Ventilation Installer Foreman to lead their Sheet Metal team. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. The ideal candidate will hold a Journeyperson Certificate and have extensive hands-on experience in sheet metal installation across commercial, industrial, and residential settings. The Sheet Metal Foreman will oversee day-to-day work on-site, support apprentices and journeymen, ensure safety compliance, and maintain project timelines. Cobra Mechanical serves Northern Manitoba communities, as well as Winnipeg and surrounding areas. This position involves travel to job sites within Canada, with a typical rotation of 21 days on and 7 days off.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson Certificate in Sheet Metal
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Proficient knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal equipment
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills and the ability to lead in a diverse environment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality of work
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
  • Aware of the physical demands of the role
  • Adherence to safety policies, procedures, and best practices

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2–3 years experience in a leadership or foreman capacity

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and oversee sheet metal crews on job sites
  • Build and install HVAC ventilation systems in commercial, industrial, and residential applications
  • Lay out, measure, and mark sheet metal according to specifications
  • Work with appropriate equipment and tools to cut, bend, and form sheet metal
  • Weld or fasten sheet metal components as required
  • Verify quality of work and ensure all installations meet code and project standards
  • Read and interpret sketches, blueprints, and specifications
  • Support apprentice development through training, coaching, and mentorship
  • Communicate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to maintain workflow
