Sheet Metal Technician
About The Position
This role involves performing basic sheet metal machine operations, including cutting, breaking, and sorting parts. The technician will participate in team and shop business problem-solving activities focused on quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements. Key responsibilities include meeting or exceeding annual targets for safety, quality, 5-S, and productivity, attending training, and performing other duties as assigned. The position requires a willingness to learn, adherence to company policies, maintaining a safe work environment, excellent work attendance, and a positive attitude. Continuous improvement in quality, safety, 5-S, and productivity is expected. The role also involves the proper use of a tape measure, understanding and use of basic shop math, reading production orders, understanding shop drawings, and familiarity with common hand and power tools. A valid driver's license is required.
Requirements
- Basic Sheet Metal machine operations; cutting, breaking, and sorting of parts
- Willingness to learn
- Understanding and proper use of tape measure within 1/32”
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Basic shop math (i.e. add/subtract/divide/multiply, whole numbers and fractions)
- Must be able to read Production Orders & understand shop drawings
- Familiar with common hand and power tools
