About The Position

Delta Metals, Inc. is Southeast Georgia’s largest sheet metal and roofing contractor, founded in 1959. They strive to provide clients with high quality products and superior service at competitive prices. Their products are fabricated in their factory in Savannah, Georgia, and can be shipped to a client's facility for installation, or their service and construction team can install them. This is an entry-level position in their sheet metal shop making quality duct systems, working with talented metal workers. The company is growing and looking for new team members.

Requirements

Strong attention to detail
Able to lift and carry more than 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Perform job duties while standing for prolonged periods of time
Must have mechanical and mathematical aptitude
Must have good hand-eye coordination
Requires the ability to use a phone and tablet to input data, such a timecard information, emails, etc.

Bilingual (Spanish) a plus for this role

Responsibilities

Make heating, ventilation, and air conditioning duct systems, roofs, siding, rain gutters, downspouts, and many other products from metal sheets
Study plans and specs to determine the kind and quality of materials needed for various projects
Measure, cut, bend, shape, and fasten pieces of sheet metal to make ductwork and other custom products
Cut, drill, and form parts with computer-controlled lasers, shears, and brakes
Use power tools and heavy machinery to complete projects
Inspect finished products for accuracy
Follow all safety protocols, and maintain and operate machines to manufacturer’s specifications
