Sheet Metal Operator
About The Position
Novolex is seeking a Sheet Metal Operator for their Cedar Rapids location. This role involves operating a CNC Laser and fabricating sheet metal products according to job orders, blueprints, and schematic diagrams. The operator will also be responsible for bending, cutting, and altering various grades of sheet metal, as well as setting up and operating shears, brakes, benders, rolls, and t-drills. The position requires inspecting, assembling, and adjusting equipment to ensure conformance with specifications. The available shift is Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm, in a climate-controlled environment.
Requirements
- 1-3 years sheet metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Blueprint Reading.
Responsibilities
- Operates NC Laser.
- Fabricates sheet metal products and equipment in accordance with job orders, blueprints and/or schematic diagrams.
- Bends, cuts or alters various grades of sheet metal according to product being fabricated and knowledge of sheet metal.
- Sets up and operates shears, brakes, benders, rolls and t-drills.
- Inspects, assembles, and adjusts equipment to ensure conformance with specifications.
