About The Position

MAX Aerostructures is currently hiring a Sheet Metal Mechanic for 1st shift. This role involves operating various machinery and tools, reading blueprints, assisting with material handling, and performing repairs and modifications. The position also includes maintaining a clean and organized workspace and completing work orders with accurate documentation of time and materials. Occasional tasks outside the primary job description may be required to support the team's mission.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years knowledge of blue prints, operating brake press and hydro press.
• Previous hand forming experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates the brake press, hydro press, sander, buffer, bench grinder and various hand tools.
• Reads blueprints, sketches, mylars, and follows verbal instructions.
• Assists in receiving and storing material and supplies.
• Repairs and modifies equipment, with instructions from supervisor.
• Keeps workplace clean and organized.
• Completion of work orders; identify time and material spent on project.
• Performs occasional tasks outside of job description in support of the MAX Team’s mission.
• Sweep floors, clean equipment and machines, take out shop garbage and recycling on a regular schedule.
• Studies blueprints, sketches, sequence of operations, and set up requirements
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required
• Starts and observes operations to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance conditions and adjusts machine as required
